Art Salon Discussion

  • I'On Meeting House 352 North Shelmore Boulevard Mount Pleasant, SC, 29464 United States (map)

“Salons,” are conversations on hope in the midst of death hosted by the Church of the Holy Cross at I’On.  Bring a friend or bring yourself and join the conversation on what speaks truth to us. We will share good food and good conversation on what matters most to us in ways beyond words alone.

Theologian Blaise Pascal inspired these Salons; he brought the Gospel of grace into the party scene of the 17th Century Parisian culture makers using humor and art. Whether you are “high brow” or “low brow” or no brow!

June 13: Join us for further conversations about Hope in the Midst of Death. We will look at artists who have responded to pain and listen to what their work has to say. Is there hope? Let's find out!

Artists include Makoto Fujimara, Eduard Manet and Sara Lucas tackling realities such as terrorism, tragedy and abuse through the silence and power of visual art.Led by the Rev. Kate Norris.
